China opens school for monkeys

 

The performing school for monkeys was opened in Dongying, with 30 Japanese macaques and the furry students will learn tricks and mathematics

China’s new school for monkeys has certainly raised a few eyebrows and it could be one of the world’s most curious school.
The “macaques performing school” for monkeys, a first of its kind was opened in Dongying, with 30 Japanese macaques, which are snow monkeys and the furry students “are expected to learn tricks, such as walking on stilts and mathematics, and will be sent around China after their training to enter the entertainment industry,” Dailymail reported.
The monkeys are also expected to receive daily physical training and “academic” lessons and after their graduation the monkeys will tour the length and breadth of China to showcase their trickery and skills

McDonald's is finally bringing back fries in Venezuela after getting rid of them
Regular will cost about $79 — 500 bolivars — according to the country's strongest exchange rate.
Worse, a large will cost about $126, or 800 bolivars.
The exchange rates were calculated at the time of publication.

Still, at Venezuela's black-market rate, these prices would be $0.64 for the regular and $1.15 for the large, according to Fusion.

But at the black-market exchange rate, Venezuela's minimum wage is only about $13 per month.

So, with those numbers, one large fries would cost nearly 9% of a person's monthly wage.

Venezuela's economy has been in a tough spot for a while now. It has been struggling with rampant inflation, dwindling FX reserves, and lower oil prices.
And analysts haven't been feeling too optimistic about its immediate future.
"Venezuela seems to be going from worse to worse," RBC Capital Markets' Helima Croft wrote earlier this summer.
Those $126 fries are definitely a turn for the worse.

Airport officials detains woman after scanner spotted her penis

A transgender woman with the name Shadi Petosky was heading home from a vacation in Orlando, Fla. Monday when she was stopped at the airport, and then detained by Transportation Security Administration agents because of an "anomaly" in her image on an X-ray security scanner. 

 

After a long wait alone in the private room, Shadi says that a TSA agent named "Bramlet" entered the room and asked her to return to the scanning machine "as a man or it would be a problem." 

 

After going through an intensive security search, Petosky had missed her American Airlines flight and needed to re-book. When she attempted to approach the proper gate to do so, a TSA agent allegedly asked her to leave the airport.
Petosky wrote that when she began sobbing, they asked her to get herself together.

Kim Davis : The woman who was jailed for challenging Gay rights in US

Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, hauled to jail for defying a series of federal court orders and refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Davis refused to issue licenses to Gay.

Davis stopped issuing licenses altogether. Four couples sued Davis, elected clerk as a Democrat, and she filed a counter-suit against Beshear, also a Democrat, alleging that his refusal to exempt religious clerks from authorizing same-sex marriage violated her right to religious freedom.

Meanwhile, Davis continued to refuse court orders and U.S. District Judge David Bunning found her in contempt earlier this month and ordered her to jail for five days, propelling her to folk hero status among some on the religious right. Davis made the rounds on television news shows this week, pledging to continue her fight against gay marriage

3 month old Baby goes blind from Camera flash light

A three month old baby suffered irreparable damage from the flash of the camera handled by a family friend that came visiting, which was held about 10 inches away from the baby boy. The parents were said to have noticed that there was something wrong with their baby’s vision soon after the photograph was taken.

DailyMailUK added that aside from the right eye that went blind, the baby also had a reduced vision in his left eye. The damage is said to be permanent and cannot be fixed with surgery. Experts say that the strong flash has damaged cells on the macula, which is the part of the eye where incoming light rays are focused.
Damage to the macula can lead to the loss of central vision, which allows people to see straight ahead. The macula is not fully developed until children are four, meaning youngsters are very sensitive to strong light. According to research, babies will shut their eyes when exposed to light on reflex, just milliseconds of strong light can cause permanent damage.

It is not clear whether the family friend will face any legal action following the incident.

Central Bank of Nigeria Suspends cash Deposits Into Domiciliary Accounts

Yesterday, August 5 2015,  the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) announced its action following the recent statements by Nigeria banks, suspending the payment of foreign currencies into domiciliary accounts.

In a statement by Olakanmi Gbadamosi, trade and exchange director, the CBN stated that the organization has considered the recent statements by Deposit Money Banks concerning the large volume of foreign currencies in their vaults and the decision to stop accepting foreign currency cash deposits into customers’ domiciliary accounts as a welcome development.

The bank advises individuals that wish to source for foreign currency for eligible and legitimate purposes such as BTA, PTA medical, mortgage, school fees, goods etc. to do so through recognised channels with the use of Form ‘A’ for “invisible” and Form ‘M’ for ‘visible’ transactions.
“By this circular, those who deposited foreign currencies into their accounts before the directive will now have to withdraw the cash as they are not going to be allowed to transfer the funds,” the CBN instructed.
