Agbero Killed an Okada rider with a Charm

Ahmed, a bricklayer, who occasionally operated a commercial motorcycle (AKA okada) had gotten into an argument with Kola Adegbite, an official of Articulate Motorcyclists Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) over ticket collection.
Narrating what happened, an eyewitness at the popular bank bus stop in Ifo, scene of the incident said Adegbite had confronted Ahmed over motorcyclists’ ticket collection and this led to a fight, Leadership reports.
Other AMORAN officials who were on duty later joined Adegbite in beating Ahmed.
When the beatings became too much, he fell to the ground and the other assailants left him alone. It was at this point that Adegbite allegedly brought out a charm and hit him.

It was gathered that Adegbite tried to escape after he discovered his charm had taken hold of his victim but he was caught and forced to carry the dying man to the general hospital.
Unfortunately, he died on the way to the hospital.
Adegbite was then lured to the Ifo divisional police headquarters where he was detained.
He has been in detention to prevent sympathizers of the late victim from carrying out jungle justice.

The brother of the deceased, Azeez Akeem described him as a gentleman, adding that the attitude of AMORAN ticket officials was dangerous to the society.
Reacting to the incident, the Chairman of AMORAN in Ifo, Alhaji Nurudeen Jimoh, expressed shock, saying the union did not send Adegbite to kill Ahmed or any other okada rider.
The standing order for our officials is to avoid any argument that can lead to fight between them and okada riders. How could an argument over ticket degenerate into killing? That is a clear violation of our mode of operation.”

According to the state police public relations officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, investigation into the matter had begun and those who joined Adegbite in beating Ahmed would be arrested and prosecuted.
