The police in the United Kingdom have arrested the Ex-Benue state governor Gabriel Suswam after beating his wife.
He was arrested and held at London Detention Centre and was later released on a £5,000 bail.
Gabriel’s wife Yemisi placed an emergency call to the police from their luxury London home that the previous governor had physically abused her.
She went further to explained to the police in charge that during a minor argument in which she questioned her husband's relationship with mistress ‘Shidoo’. Suswam then beat her which made her to run.
If the ex Governor is found guilty, he could be jailed for about six months in the UK under the Persons Act of 1861 for such abuse.
